Rising from Warsaw’s underground, Infernal Flame conjure a bleak and uncompromising vision on their debut full-length The Grave. Originally self-released digitally on February 13, 2025, the album now sees its first physical incarnation through Apostasy Records - soon available on CD, vinyl and cassette.
Across nine tracks, the Polish quartet fuse the weight of cavernous death metal with the scorched atmosphere of black metal, forging a sound that feels both raw and deliberate - a ritual equal parts feral energy and fatal precision. From the slow-grinding opener “Dreadead” through the tar-soaked menace of “Cauldron of Black Tar,” the feverish descent of the title track and the final farewell of “Godbye,” The Grave unfolds like a single, unbroken passage through dread and decay.
Formed in 2024 and operating deliberately outside the label system, Infernal Flame channel a rehearsal-room immediacy that recalls the early second-wave spirit while carving out a distinctly modern darkness. Still largely unreviewed and shrouded in underground obscurity, The Grave stands as an intense and authentic statement - from a band intent on burning their own path through Poland’s black/death scene. 2 Comments 11 Likes

Darkborne, by Eye of Purgatory
Eye of Purgatory sign with Apostasy Records and announce New Album! Swedish / American death metal trio Eye of Purgatory return with "Darkborne" - a powerful new chapter forged by Rogga Johansson (Paganizer, Ribspreader), Taylor Nordberg (Deicide, Inhuman Condition ...) and Jeramie Kling (Inhuman Condition, Overkill ...). The album captures the spirit of classic Swedish death metal: dark, atmospheric and full of organic weight - yet with a melodic and emotional depth that makes every track feel alive.
The cover artwork, created by Dan Goldsworthy (Accept, Alestorm, Cradle of Filth), perfectly reflects the album’s mix of melancholy and menace. Darkborne isn’t about nostalgia; it’s a continuation of a sound that values emotion and atmosphere as much as sheer heaviness. 5 Comments 94 Likes

Nothgard - Opium Dreams
After several years of silence, Nothgard break their creative hibernation and rise anew with “Opium Dreams”, a haunting and emotionally charged return to form that redefines the band’s signature mix of epic melodic death metal. The new single channels Nothgard’s renowned technical precision while expanding their sonic identity with a deeper sense of atmosphere, narrative weight and cinematic intensity. Lyrically rooted in themes of loss, obsession and transcendence, “Opium Dreams” bridges modern heaviness with melodic depth, forging a sound that feels both intimate and colossal.
Composed and produced by Dom R. Crey at Splendid Wave Studios, the track unfolds with meticulous detail and a sweeping orchestral arrangement crafted by Corvin Bahn, adding layers of intense and emotional tension. The single further ascends with the arresting guest vocals of Giulia Claussen, while the mastering touch of Benjamin Lawrenz brings the piece to its full sonic impact.
Accompanying the release is a visually striking music video - dark, atmospheric and unmistakably cinematic. Produced and directed by Giulia Claussen and Christian Lim, the video immerses viewers in an aesthetic world that mirrors the song’s themes of inner descent and fragile hope. Lim’s work in cinematography, camera and lighting shapes the video’s brooding visual language.
With “Opium Dreams”, Nothgard open a powerful new chapter - one defined by artistic clarity, sharpened intensity and a fearless dive into emotional and modern storytelling. Nothgard have returned, stronger, darker and more focused than ever. 6 Comments 50 Likes
